Glow Text
In this Tutorial, I will show you how to add a Glow effect to any text.

1.) Let's begin by creating a new file. Go to File > New. Make it 250 X 100 pixels on a white background.

2.) In the Layers palette, click the Channels tab (located at the top of the palette.)
3.) Now, click the Create new channel button (at the bottom of the palette.)

4.) Next, select the Text tool from the tool palette.

5.) Type something large to fill the area. Click the Move tool (top right of the tool palette) and center text.) Now, de-select selection. (Ctrl + D)

The channel should now look something like this:

6.) Next, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Follow settings below.

Channel should now have this appearrance.

7.) Next, go to Image > Adjust > Curves. Move the curve somewhere, then type in settings below.

Channel will change to this.

8.) Click the Load channel as selection button (located bottom of palette.)

9.) In the Layers palette, click the Layers tab (located top of palette.)

10.) Go to Layer > New Layer (name it if you wish) then hit OK.

11.) Select color of your choice and go to Edit > Fill. 100% opacity and hit OK.

*Image should now mirror graphic at top of this page.

Let's add even more punch!

Bonus Tip: Click on the background layer and repeat step 11. (This time fill it with black). Now, click on the text layer and go to Layer > Layer Styles > Outer Glow. Click on the color well and find a color you like, something light, then follow settings below.
