| In this Tutorial, I will show you how to add a Glow effect to any text. |

| 1.) Let's begin by creating a new file. Go to File > New. Make it 250 X 100 pixels on a white background. |
| 2.) In the Layers palette, click the Channels tab (located at the top of the palette.) |
| 3.) Now, click the Create new channel button (at the bottom of the palette.) |

| 4.) Next, select the Text tool from the tool palette. |
|
|
| 5.) Type something large to fill the area. Click the Move tool (top right of the tool palette) and center text.) Now, de-select selection. (Ctrl + D) |
|

| The channel should now look something like this: |

| 6.) Next, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Follow settings below. |

Channel should now have this appearrance.

| 7.) Next, go to Image > Adjust > Curves. Move the curve somewhere, then type in settings below. |

Channel will change to this.

| 8.) Click the Load channel as selection button (located bottom of palette.) |
|

| 9.) In the Layers palette, click the Layers tab (located top of palette.) |
| 10.) Go to Layer > New Layer (name it if you wish) then hit OK. |
| 11.) Select color of your choice and go to Edit > Fill. 100% opacity and hit OK. |

| Let's add even more punch! |

Bonus Tip: Click on the background layer and repeat step 11. (This time fill it with black). Now, click on the text layer and go to Layer > Layer Styles > Outer Glow. Click on the color well and find a color you like, something light, then follow settings below. |
